16mm "Gritty" film stock for music video

Hello,

I am shooting a clip for a band that don't want a polished look but instead a gritty feel.

So I will shoot B&W Super8 and Color 16mm and intercut the two.

Can anyone recommend a 16mm stock?

The only reference points I could find to give you an idea of what I mean:

CLICK ON "GHETTO ROCK" link.

It would be mainly avaliable light in a city-scape but also in early morning sunrise in open spaces.

Any advice would be wonderful!

Though I haven't checked your link, the solution for a "gritty" feel almost always involves excessive image grain.

Take a high speed stock (7279, for example), underexpose, then push process. Although you will lose saturation, you'll get grain. Also try crushing the blacks during telecine to further emphasize "grittiness."

Silver retention process is another option worth considering.
