Amazon starts producing movies

Very big move for a company like Amazon, however, it was expected after all the money they put on developing new teams for their studios and production positions and how well they performed on smaller productions.

It wants to market the indie community, which is really good.

Their plan for distribution is fab too, let's see if it works though, I hope so!

Have a good day!

Most Hollywood agents are stuck in such a stone age level of thinking that they still won't let their clients do a movie with "Amazon" at the head of it, vs, Universal Studios.

Cool - Woody Allen makes a TV series.

I am going to be hooked. Easily. The great thing about Woody Allen, in my books, is that even his most light weight works (as if thrown together on a Sunday afternoon just for something to do - metaphorically speaking), I find completely and utterly watchable. I have no idea why.

Woody's films lately though are often hit or miss, Whatever Works, - awesome, You Will Meet a Tall Dark stranger - awful, Midnight in Paris - awesome, To Rome with Love - abysmal, Blue Jasmine - Brilliant. Haven't seen Magic in the Moonlight. But hopefully it's great. otherwise, you get the idea. Not sure how he'll be on a TV series since he always has complete creative control on the films.

I did not watch a Allen film after "Annie Hall"(1977), with any enthusiasm, and other than "Zelig"(1983) didn't watch any at all until 'years' after their release on VHS/DVD... I did watch "Midnight in Paris"(2011) when it first became available on BD, because everyone claimed Allen had 'changed'... well of course I followed the plot/jokes/etc... the Wife was totally lost...

The films of the 80s and some in the 90s tended to be New York centric, and as such, had no appeal to me in the least. Many contain 'insider' jokes, which I for the most part did 'understand' the references... but could have cared less...
