Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted April 28, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted April 28, 2015 Sad and shocking news: http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/movies/cinematographer-andrew-lesnie-has-died-from-a-heart-attack/story-e6frfmvr-1227324892475 I met Andrew at the ASC several years ago and he was a lovely, down-to-earth person, very modest for a man of his great talents. Premium Member Tyler Purcell Posted April 28, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted April 28, 2015 Very shocking… just posted it on Facebook, nobody seems to know here yet. I always loved Andrew's work, he really stood out as one of my favorite DP's. Really, truly, sad. :(

Premium Member Mark Kenfield Posted April 28, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted April 28, 2015 Horrible, horrible news. I only had the brief pleasure of meeting Andrew once at a recent masterclass he ran for the ACS, but his attitude and approach to cinematography was nothing short of inspiring. The world got a stop darker today. RIP.

Geoff C. Bassett
I loved his work on The Fellowship of the Ring and admired his ambition on the Hobbit films, being one of the first to attempt 48 fps. Very sad to see him pass before his time.
