Brian Drysdale
A video putting forward the proposal that CGI peaked in the 1990s. Certainly i've become concerned that there isn't any physicality to quite a few CGI films. They're more like video games and II no lomger have a suspension of disbelieve. Great in Pixar, but not in a number of live action movies. Edited July 29, 2015 by Brian Drysdale
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted July 29, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted July 29, 2015 A couple of points I'd argue with, but in the main it's hard to disagree.
Premium Member Tyler Purcell Posted July 31, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted July 31, 2015 Yea, I agree it's getting out of control. If I wanna see a computer animated film, I'll just watch one from Pixar. Most films today defy the laws of physics, which adds to the WOW factor, but makes the products more like creative animation, rather then cinematic. Mark Dunn
Having never seen digital projection I came close on Friday (MI Rogue Nation), because tickets were only £4, but oddly enough I ended up actually shooting a film (OK, HD, not the real thing) instead.I hate it really, but flash memory sure is cheaper than 16mm.
