Shutter

Recommended Posts

A shutter is a mechanicial device for controlling the exposiure time, although these days there are electronic equivalents found in digital and video cameras. On film cameras the shufter is closed so that the film can move to the next frame and opened again to expose the next frame.

There are other methods, but the rotary disc is usual in motion picture film cameras.

Please do a little research online first, there are plenty of explanations on Wikipedia, etc. What a forum can do is clarify something that you read but didn't understand, but it is silly for us to just write textbook definitions for you when you can look this stuff up yourself.
