Then, after some practical experience, asking some more refined questions. If in doubt about how to describe yourself on a forum like this, try "student" or "other". If on a course, either buying or getting one the many books from the library will give you handy references. Use forums for follow up questions. Sooner or later as just witnessed in this thread, someone will answer their question, no matter how basic. The OP has their occupation listed as Cinematographer, really??
