In Camera Lens Wobble FX

There is an in camera lens wobble practical effect in the remake music video of this Joan Jett song for the movie Wayne's World 2 circa 1993. Any ideas how they achieved it?

Look around:

0:05-0:06

0:55-0:56

1:11-1:12 - (probably the most visible example)

Thanks!

My guess is they did this in telecine. I only think this because there are other telecine fx going on such as the overscan/deysync, but most of all they saved the stretch/rotate for the wider shots that could be put anywhere in an edit. I could be wrong.

Clairmont has/had a rig they called the "Squishy Lens", but I don't think it could get this particular distortion. But it would have been easy on DaVinci.

There were a couple distortion lens setups towards the end of the 90s, Clairmont's and the Hylen, but hard to tell which particular one would have been capable of this particular distortion.

I have to say that the Joan Jett video just looks like someone rotating an anamorphic adaptor in front of the prime lens to me.

Certainly I think that would be the easiest way to do it.
