Daniel Cowles
Hi -- I have an O'Connor 1030HDs that has a loose European quick release / tripod plate. Can anyone recommend a good repair shop? Even better if it's n the San Francisco Bay Area. this guy: http://www.filmtools.com/oconnor-mini-european-quick-release.html Or, if it's relatively simple I could do it myself - I'm finding the O'Connor support site a little cryptic. Daniel Cowles
Just to clarify - it's the connection between the base euro plate and the camera base plate that has play.
Premium Member Satsuki Murashige Posted October 2, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted October 2, 2015 If it's just the Touch and Go plate that is loose then no need to send out for repair. There is a little hex screw that you tighten to adjust the clamping tension. It should be inside the female receiver where the plate goes, centered on the back side with the spring loaded clamp. Just use a small L shaped Allen key (I believe it is Metric) and make small adjustments until the tension is as you want it. It's very sensitive so you shouldn't have to turn it much. Definitely use a single L key instead of one of those multi-key tools, otherwise you won't be able to get the key to fit.
