Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted November 29, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted November 29, 2015 Hi I may need to do some visual effects stuff involving someone walking along - the intention is for it to be the slow motion, wind machine enhanced cosmetics commercial stride. It strikes me that an easy way to do this without the need for miles of tracking rail, a lot of space and a lot of lighting would be to have the actor walk on a treadmill. It would work with the sort of stuff I'd like to get and I've seen it done this way before. It would require a treadmill without the usual handrail and control panel. Are the one used for VFX work just modified from gym equipment, or is something specific being used? Are they rentable? Or do we need to buy an old one, reroute the controls, and make with a hacksaw? And yes, the safety implications of this are under keen consideration. P
Phil Connolly
This place hires them: http://www.hirefitness.co.uk/commercial-gym-equipment-hire/film-and-movie-hire/green-screen-treadmill But at that price it looks much cheaper to home brew one. Must be plenty of them on ebay from failed fitness regimes. These guys also hire them but no online pricing: http://prophireanddeliver.com/product/gym-exercise-equipment/treadmill-green-screen/
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted November 30, 2015 Author Premium Member Share Posted November 30, 2015 Google would have been my friend, I guess! Thanks. I can actually buy a simple one cheaper than that!
