Marcus Taplin
I am working on another film in March and was looking for advice on some lenses to test out. Shooting a Russian spy movie set in the 70s and looking for some glass to match that era. Shooting with my Amira. Were Zeiss Standard Speeds made around that time? Thanks for suggesting lenses to test out! -Marcus
Freya Black
If it's set in Russia then surely some Lomo's would be the way to go? You would want to find a mechanically okay set. Beautiful glass that all the old Russian movies were shot on. Stalker, Mirror, Sayat Nova etc
Premium Member Miguel Angel Posted January 7, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted January 7, 2016 As Freya suggested spherical and anamorphic lomos would be a good start. Spherical lomos are fantastic but they are a bit tough to work with and there are not too many "good working" sets out there. Anamorphic lomos are beautiful and they are relatively easy to find for rent. Have a good day.
