double 8mm film availability in Europe

Hello to everyone,

I got my hands on a Bolex p3 2x8mm and after going through an online servicing guide for 8mm bolex cine cameras written I think by a member of this forum, I managed to get the motor to run very smoothly, and after testing the film pulling mechanism with some old Kodachrome it seems ready to start shooting. I'm in Italy and there are no labs here working with 2x8mm.

Are there other shops/labs in Europe offering standard 8mm film, developing and telecine besides Wittner tec (just film, no processing/telecine)Kahl and GaugeFilm? Anyone have experience working with double 8mm and processing in Europe that can recommend a good lab?

*About 73 euro;

*About 66 euro

What I understand from google translate is that the minimum amount they would telecine is 20 minutes, for 20 euro, 1 euro per minute

Also, are there other emulsions available besides WitterChrome, Orwo, Kahl, and does anyone know if there is still someone modifying Fuji Velvia 50 into standard 8mm?

Many thanks in advance,

Gauge are hand-processing in 50' tanks. Ask them about roll-to-roll consistency.

They actually have those big electric tanks that can do 6 rolls at a time, although I'm sure they can just do one 50ft roll in a lomo tank if need be too.

Thanks, I didn't know those had ever been made for 8 and 16mm rather than just for the stills spirals. Tough luck for the take that runs over the 50' mark, i suppose.

Hello,

look at http://www.8mm-16mm-film-developing.com/index.html

This is my website. I develop all 2x8mm, Super8, 16mm films B&W and ORWOCHROM. I develop expired - even 30 years - and new films.

You can buy expired but good ORWO B&W films on low prices (about 7 EURO for one 2x8mm roll) also. Look: http://www.film16mm.pl/16mmsale.html#link5012 You can translate this site using Google Translator.

Feel free to ask.
