Bradley Stearn
I didn't want to create an account on the steadicam forums for this one question, so thought I would bring it here to start off with. I'm focus pulling on an Arri 416 super 16mm shoot this month, and the DOP has told me that there will be some low mode steadicam shots. The rental house told me that the camera being upside down wouldn't be a problem, I have read on other sources that the film potentially could get scratched if the camera is held upside down. I'd rather avoid any problems, so I was wondering if anyone knew of a low mode bracket for the 416? Or a general bracket for all cameras, to allow the camera to be mounted to the steadicam plate using the top handle, to avoid spinning the camera upside down for the low mode filming. Kalle Folke
Hi, There is a low mode bracket made by Arri for the 416. I got it with the kit I bought used from Arri Rental. I think there's a picture and part number in the manual. I'm in Sweden, but if you don't find any other way I wouldn't mind renting it out (but I'm sure you'll find one locally). Good luck! Bradley Stearn
Thanks Kalle, will have a look around, and if it really is a necessity hiring from you might be an option.
