David Cunningham
HI All, Anyone know any tips or tricks for this projector's exciter lamp? Despite a fresh known-good exciter lamp, no light from said lamp. I'm 99.9% sure I'm operating this machine correctly. So, I'm looking for anyone who might know any known issues with these units before I go tearing mine apart. Thanks! Dave
Premium Member Tyler Purcell Posted November 7, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted November 7, 2016 Have you measured the socket with a multimeter? On some projectors, the exciter lamp is turned on when the volume knob is turned up. Bell and Howell is infamous for that issue.
David Cunningham
Yeah. Sadly no apparent voltage even when the volume is turned up. :(
Premium Member Tyler Purcell Posted November 16, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted November 16, 2016 Is it solid state or does it have tubes? I have an old B&H projector that's tubes and I had to jiggle them to get the lamp to come on, it took a while as well.
David Cunningham
I'm assuming it must have a tube of some kind being from the 30s. I'll crack it open and take a look.
Alessandro Malfatti
Careful with asbestos in those old projectors.
