16mm Mag Sound Recording Projectors

The Steenbeck replays from 16mm. stripe. Very, very few super-8 sound editors could record- I'd be very surprised if anyone ever put that on a 16mm. viewer. It's just not a professional feature.

Roger,

That would be the Siemens 2000 16mm projector that could record on magnetic stripes on the 16mm film , i.e.

They also had a 2nd variation that duplicated the transport that was basically a two track 16mm projector. One for picture and the other was for 16mm fullcoat magnetic film. Both were interlocked for sync.

The Bell and Howell JAN 16mm projector has a version that can record to as well as play back from magnetic striped film. It has a separate unit that attaches to the projector via cables for recording. Very well made. International Cine Equipment Co (ICECO) in Miami may still be able to provide such a setup with a synchronous motor powering the projector for exact 24fps film speed. I purchased mine from them years ago.
