To me the main difference would be that colour films have a black backing which black and white negative stocks haven’t. Black and white reversal films have a black undercoat which makes them completely opaque, too. Reversal colour films have a black backing, too. I’d advise to simple develop a length of one foot length to see what edge marks there are. These might help.

 

Est-ce que tu comprends? Je parle des couches anti-halo dont les pellicules couleur en possèdent une sur le dos, dans une Paillard-Bolex à l’extérieur. Si tu découpes un bout, le mets dans de l’eau chaude et après peu de temps la couche dorsale se dégage en frottant légèrement, il s’agit du matériel couleur. Si le bout et demi transparent, c’est du noir-blanc. En outre, David a raison.
