Andrew Russo
Production does not want to pay to get an octocopter to fly our mini for one shot, so they've asked me to figure out a more economical way. Does anyone have any experience cutting drone footage with Alexa mini and liking the results? Resolution is not the most important thing, exposure latitude and overall filmic look are the priority. I want to match the aesthetic beauty of the Alexa without the price... I know you get what you pay for in this town, but I was considering getting a drone and using the Sony As7 II. Thoughts? Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted June 12, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted June 12, 2017 Inspire 2 with XS5 would be my bet filming RAW.
Premium Member Adam Frisch FSF Posted June 12, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted June 12, 2017 Yep, I've cut in Inspire 2 footage in 5K with lots of Alexa and Red jobs. Last was for a car commercial. Works like a charm.
rob norton
Andrew this was shot on the mini/phantom 4. I'm unsure if it will help but could at least provide a point of reference. The drone is in between the two jet shots, around 00:05 - 00:06: https://vimeo.com/217772915
