John Carty
I was wanting to know if the Bolex EBM 16mm camera will shoot instantly when you press the trigger like say the super 8mm cameras, or will it take a few frames or seconds to get up to speed. Thanks John
Jean-Louis Seguin
No it's not instant. There will be some fogged frames between every shot.
tom lombard
Not to hijack the thread but this is fairly closely related (I think)... I have an EL which I suspect would have the same "issue". Where this concerns me is that I was planning on shooting some in-camera cross fades (believe that's correct term) by using a de-clicked manual focus lens (Nikon Series E 50mm) to fade to black by closing the aperture. At that point, I would use reverse to go back X number of frames (perhaps 4 seconds worth), then shoot while fading in from black by opening the aperture. I'm planning on doing a test prior to my actual shoot but what might I expect to see due to the fogging as things come up to speed? Since I'll be having the 16mm film telecined & will be editing digitally, it may be a non-issue as I'll be able to remove a couple of frames at each end of the fade.
