Enrico Montibeller Piffer
Hello everyone, My name is Enrico and I am a Film Production student. For one of my University Projects I am responsible for lightening a Church during the night. The director wants it to have a Noir tone. I would like to know if anyone has any advice of reading recommendations I could study Thanks Enrico
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted February 28, 2018 Premium Member Share Posted February 28, 2018 I'd do shafts of street-light through the stained glass windows; and use the greens or reds from the exit signs (assuming it's modern day) to push red and green light into the scenes--- and a few of those flickering candles lit as prayers in the background of shots. Haze is your friend in this case and you can sneak in a nice soft far-side key on the actors, dim, but enough you can make out their faces and some of their eyes, if you'd like. Further, try to stage them against something lit in the background (the candles, a dim door, a dim stained glass window or the like) to pop them from the background.
