Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted March 15, 2018 Premium Member Share Posted March 15, 2018 Hi folks Just noticed this in a presumably-80s or perhaps very early 90s bit of video. It's a grab from VHS, I suspect, so excuse the poor quality, but is this a deliberate filter effect? Seems to me it could be done by deliberately stacking filters with an angle between them, to create offset reflections, which makes sense given there's two reflections of each highlight. Still, I've really no idea. Is this some sort of very odd lens flare? P
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted March 15, 2018 Premium Member Share Posted March 15, 2018 Looks like filter reflections, probably the type of matte box where there are spacers between each filter tray, or a rear round filter and a rectangular filter in front.
