Black Magic scanner

You could buy a multi axis Gaili-MC servo controller a bunch of nice servo motors and sensors plus a camera and frame grabber and a aluminum plate to stick it all to for about $20K and have the rest to blow at the casino.

Where's the fun in that?

BTW, the odds of this happening are slim to none, I'm just thinking out loud. But if I did do something like this, i wouldn't be buying a full-priced one, I'd wait until a used one came up for sale. Supposedly there are over 100 installed. I've got to think someone is unhappy with their purchase and is looking for something better!

As for the space thing - it's the wall-mount that I find intriguing. at first I thought it was totally bogus and mocked their press photos just like everyone else. But you know, we could actually hang this thing on the wall above one of our rewind benches, and it'd be a good use of space.

BMD have been very creative thinkers in this wall-mount design. It's exciting to see what they're developing now. As I've said before, Australians tend to be innovators - they can come up with the unexpected and win with it. How's that for a bit of a plug.

It is undeniably sexy. And I do love BMD as a spunky little innovator. I'm sure they will get the scanner figured out.
