RGB "Play Bulbs" and flicker

I want to use some bluetooth (ipad/iphone) controlled colour-changing light bulbs, similar to the popular "play bulbs". Does anyone have any recommendations for good brands/types to use when shooting 23.976fps? I want to avoid flicker, etc.

I'm not familiar with "play bulbs" but there's a company called Glasson Electronics here in the UK which exhibited some colour-mixing LED lightbulbs at the recent Production Show.

The company makes a particular virtue of the fact that their bulbs don't use PWM dimming, so they're flicker-free.

 

I haven't used them but they seemed plausible. I think they use DMX control rather than from a cellphone but I'm not completely sure what all the control options are.

Quite a lot of people tend to uses Phillips Hue but you'd need to test to make sure they don't flicker.
