Estar vs Acetate film

Recommended Posts

Compared to old acetate film is the estar film base a static dust magnet?

I have only tried white estar or mylar white leader and it picks up dust and dirt like mad. The acetate leader does not. I'm wondering if film is the same or does film have an anti-static coating?

The taking films have antistatic layers incorporated, No comparison of blank leader to dedicated camera stocks.

OK, thanks.

Too bad they don't make the 16mm plastic leader the same. It is an unbelievable dust magnet. I switched over to Kodak acetate leader. It is a lot more $. About $50 per 1000 feet more than plastic leader.
