Chad Mahadevan Share Posted July 23, 2018 Hey All, I have an upcoming shoot that is going to require quite a bit of camera marks (Jib moves back and forth, Sticks move in and out, etc...). Would anyone be able to recommend some decent marks that would work well with artificial turf (I think standard paper tape would peel easily). Anything like temp spray/chalk that I could buy local from Los Angeles (like EVS, Filmtools or Birns)? Any input on this topic would be highly appreciated. Thanks! Mark Dunn Share Posted July 24, 2018 (edited) How about pinning down the tape? Maybe with long plastic-headed pins. They shouldn't be hard to find. Just don't lose the pins. Edited July 24, 2018 by Mark Dunn

Chris Steel Share Posted July 26, 2018 You can get colour golf tees by the 50 pack for a few £ / $ - Check the sort of turf will be ok with being skewered. I'm sure sausage marks would be fine for dolly and crane marks. Metal T's are great, lots of gravity to them. Rubber marks are a good DIY option. Spray chalk is a thing. canned air held upside-down to freeze it then brush it loose for when you're done. I'm sure most 2nd ACs will have that sort of thing in their kit already or given notice could sort out such things for you.
David Ishida Share Posted February 14, 2020 Agree with Chris and Aapo above. Bright colored golf tees. Bright enough for people to see them, but can be set below the grass line so camera can't see them.
