ARRI UDM1 mount on RED SCARLET-W

Recommended Posts

If all you are looking for is to have the UDM readout function then no, you can set up the horns and the readout separate from the LCS. You simply need to mount both the horns and readout, connect them up and then connect the readout to an appropriate power output - D-Tap or RS.

If you want to have the UDM readout on your WCU-4 or Preston handset that is different, but it sounds like that is not what youre asking.

Thank you James. I can take it as a separate system am I correct? If I need readout on WCU-4 even pull the focus based on this data,do I need something else like UMC etc?

Yes it can be a system separated from the camera, you need the following:

WCU-4

UMC-4 + a lens motor

UDM-1

This cable to connect the UDM to UMC: http://www.arri.com/camera/pro_camera_accessories_electronic_control_system/products/distance_measure/#!view=product&pnumber=K2.65144.0

This will work, or also you can do:

- CForce RF Motor

- LCube CUB-1 serial convertor

- LBUS cables (obviously)

I've never ran the CForce RF motor with the UDM-1 (or ever, actually!) but either should work fine. the RF is definitely a smaller build footprint.
