Moritz Reinhart
I just watched Post Tenebras Lux, shot by Alexis Zabé. On some shots he created a very strong halo effect around the subjects that I have never seen before. You can see some examples in the stills. Any ideas how he achieved that? Premium Member Dom Jaeger Posted September 19, 2018 Premium Member Share Posted September 19, 2018 According to this analysis, he used a "bevelled" 25mm lens: https://troybordun.wordpress.com/2014/05/30/approaching-carlos-reygadass-post-tenebras-lux-2012/ "..the outside of the lens is polished and shaved so it becomes flat, and then it creates a refraction. It was a 25mm lens, and it reacts differently depending on the light and atmosphere, as well as the camera movement.”
