How they did this effect ?

Hi Guys,
How they made this effect, should be a spot light but as it has so much power and the line is quite clear. Can you help me ?

A big theatrical follow spot would have more then enough punch to do this.

To be honest with faster digital cameras - you'd probably be able to replicate this shot using a source 4 for the key. Source 4's have built in cutters to shape the light.

I agree with Phil.  The shape of the sides as well as the curve at the bottom point to an ellipsoidal.  Hard to say without anything else for reference, but it's possible it was a Jo-Leko,  a Joker HMI attached to the barrel of a source four Leko.
