Habib Beh
Hi all, I have a Beaulieu R16 camera that I sent in for repairs. The initial issue: the camera would not turn on. The repair man said that the exposure meter needs to be replaced. However, he has had trouble tracking down replacement parts. To help make this search go by faster, I offered to help find the parts. I was wondering if anyone know a good source for Beaulieu parts? I have no idea where to start in my search (as google hasn't been of much help), so I thought I'd post on here. I'd appreciate any help. If you also know someone who deals with this type of camera on a regular basis and may have the part for them, please let me know how to get a hold of them...perhaps I can just send the camera to them. Thanks very much!
Dr. Thomas Faehrenkemper
I have a meter and a (new) CdS-cell, there is no further electronics in the meter circuit, so it should work. The motor is same as in a 4008, so you might be lucky to get an old one for a spare part crop. Over all, the R16 is simple, and you can get a service manual on www.filmvorführer.de. Björn Andersson in Sweden still repairs Beaulieu movie cameras and has spare parts in stock. Regards, Thomas
Premium Member Simon Wyss Posted July 18, 2019 Premium Member Share Posted July 18, 2019 (edited) As far as mechanical and optical issues are in play I can help. Electrical and electronic parts aren’t my cup of tea. I do have soldering equipment but that’s it. Daniel Wittner still has some parts on shelves. https://www.wittnercinetec.com/epages/WittnerCinetec-Super8-16mm-Film.sf/en_GB/?ViewObjectPath=%2FShops%2FWittnerCinetec-Super8-16mm-Film%2FCategories%2F"Beaulieu R16%2F2016 Zubehör" Edited July 18, 2019 by Simon Wyss
