tom clapson
Hi I’m focusing a shoot next week, the dop has moded some Helios lenses. He’s tried them on and says sometimes they unscrew from the focus motor. It’s just a short film on a 5d Mkiv, and I wondered if anyone knew of anything like a mount or cage that could stop this. It’s been a while since I’ve shot like this, so I’m not really up to date on my dslr knowledge. cheers so much for any help.
Chris Steel
a carefully placed lens support with a rubber foot or strap on a static part of the lens. A cheap support is probably best as they are aimed at this sort of thing. If you have the option, turn the motor torque down to minimise stress on the adaptor. Pair of vice grips on hand just to threaten the lens with ?
