mouting adjustable/'tiltable' pipe to a combo stand

Recommended Posts

Hello. I have some speed rail with a fixture on the end that we want to be able to tilt at will. It would be combo stand,  then a piece of grip hardware like a menace arm Ear then the speed rail that comes out of it. Is the Ear a good choice for something like this? It would always have someone holding it but a little bit of tension with the ability to tilt would be good. Also, those Ears look like at certain angles, if the grip head isn't securely fixed, that it could slip. Is there a better setup for this?

thanks for any advice.
