I removed the EF mount and there was a shim, and there are like a dozen shim sizes in the PL kit, so I’m assuming depending on the lens, there’s correct thicknesses for hitting infinity.? All you need to do is setup a back focus test with a good lens and see what happens with which shims. Basically if the focus marks on the lens are accurate when looking through the viewfinder, then you're good to go. So it's kind of guess work to get it perfect, but you can probably get it perfect if you put in the effort. There should be directions with the kit.
