Daniel D. Teoli Jr.
Newspapers didn't care if the photo lasted long. They just needed it for a few insertions into the paper. A lot of them are in bad shape due to poor processing. Here is an example of a restoration of a wire photo of Pres. Ford pardoning former Pres. Richard Nixon. It is easy to just turn into BW, but I try to keep any color components intact as well. https://daniel-d-teoli-jr-archival-collection-ii.home.blog/2020/05/06/before-and-after-press-photo-restoration/
