Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted May 27, 2020 Premium Member Share Posted May 27, 2020 I got the 50mm Sirui 1.33X f1.8 anamorphic lens for APS-C Sony cameras, more for fun. Not too heavy, good for stills.
Patrick Bishop
Looks great. I haven't had a chance to play with it on my BMPCC4K yet. I bought a MFT to E-mount adapter so will also try it on my A73
Anders Ledin
Beautiful images! How do you find the build quality of the lens?

Premium Member Satsuki Murashige Posted June 10, 2020 Premium Member Share Posted June 10, 2020 Small anamorphics are fun, aren’t they? Love the contrast and color in the compositions. The double flares are kinda extreme, but I guess that’s also part of the fun. Would like to see some medium shots and close ups too. What’s your overall impression of the lens? Since you have a lot of experience with Panavision anamorphics in 35mm, it would be interesting to hear how you think they compare.
Dave Keen
I’m not too experienced with this. I notice the flares of course and also the strange and beautiful appearance of bokeh with them. What else makes an anamorphic lens a good choice for use?
