Beside being a great film, it was Kurosawa's 'first' film...as in the first time he could make a film as he wanted to according to the commentary. Very lucky the American censors in occupied Japan were too busy to catch these 2 scenes or they would have ended up on the proverbial cutting room floor. Edited August 16, 2020 by Daniel D.
