Daniel D. Is this related to Deinterlacing? (I know next to nothing about it.) The original DVD was processed through 3 different software programs. But I've used the same 3 programs before and no artifacts like this. Edited April 13, 2021 by Daniel D. Teoli Jr.
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted April 13, 2021 Premium Member Share Posted April 13, 2021 Yes, this is an interlaced-scan video transfer. A moving object exists in a slightly different spot on each of the two fields so when combined, there is a sawtoothed-edge. I've seen it get even worse when it's an interlaced-scan PAL-to-NTSC or vice-versa conversion.
