If you look around you can find a Collar (Mazilview made one) which will clamp on to the eyepiece once the eyepiece cup is removed which in turn clamps on to the C-mount or CSmount lens usually about 8mm which screws into a Microscope or survellence cammera.

Check around the various used equipment folks to find one. Works on any camera but you can't look thru the eyepeice.

This is the "Cheepest" way to go

I have one and have used on a variety of cameras including Arri-Sr/S/2C/3C/ Eclair NPR/ACL/ Aaton LTR/XTR

It will work on any reflex camera you can clamp onto the ocular

Or for the 16mm BL try this link http://members.aol.com/azspectrum/16blccd.html

Hi Dimitrios

Yes sorry its a 16mm BL..Thanks for the link..

I have already had a price from Spectrum regarding their Video assist and Its the Best Option without a doubt..

The problem for me is its a £1000.. Its a fair price.. Hopefully I will get it done in the not to distant Future but for now I would like something that is more within my budget..

Mazil is long gone. They sold Russian 16mm Cameras in the US from the Miami. If you look at the stills you can see how the device works. Two different size tubes which clamp on to the Video cam lens and the Film cam Ocular. You can piece this together at a hardware store. Thats why I posted the photos. This is simple stuff. If you do a Google search for a Microscope video camera you are half way to the party. No worries!

Here is a link to exactly what you are looking for:

The Adapter can be had for 49USD

  • 10 years later...

I don't mean to wake up and old thread.

But I am on my way to get my own Eclair ACL. My operator would love to use it for steadicam as well and I am trying to figure out the easiest way to do this.

Especially now when Microscopes with HDMI has gone down in price.
