Cinematography in TCM

Recommended Posts

What do you think of the cinematography in Texas Chainsaw (1974)? I believe it was Daniel Pearl who did the photography and personally I thought it was excellent especially during the first half. Considering he was still a student at the time I think it's pretty well shot, the tracking shot from under the swing springs to mind. I'd be interested to know what people think.

However in the scene shot in the van the windows are completely burnt out. I was wondering how you would go about solving the exposure problem so that the exterior remained visible?

Just curious <_<

Well, for starters you could ND gel the windows of the van to bring them down a stop or two - OR - if budget and equipment permits you could bring up the light level inside the van and close down on the lens.
