Elena Sorre
I am looking for 10 rolls of 7276 (well, any for that matter). I have a Bolex that only takes double perf film, and I'm being told that isn't made anymore. Any suggestions on where to look for leftover stock? Cheers, Elena Sorre
Mitch Gross
Contact Kodak. Double-perf is still made, but only as a special order.
Premium Member John Pytlak RIP Posted May 25, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted May 25, 2004 The newer B&W reversal films are 7265 and 7266: http://www.kodak.com/US/en/motion/products...0.1.4.4.8&lc=en 7265 is available FTO with double-perf 8mm perfs (2R-1497) which are the same as 16mm double perf, only an extra set of perfs between each 16mm set: http://www.kodak.com/US/plugins/acrobat/en.../kn4oct2003.pdf But you will have to spool down to 100 foot loads or find a reseller who does. Premium Member John Pytlak RIP Posted May 25, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted May 25, 2004 So did I, but maybe she wants to reverse the action by flipping the film during editing? Double perf is still available for some films, but most cameras do take single perf (1R-2994): http://www.kodak.com/US/plugins/acrobat/en...kn2july2003.pdf http://www.kodak.com/US/plugins/acrobat/en...kn1july2003.pdf
Mister X
Double-perf Bolexes with early serial numbers: If below 76,471 (more or less) it has double-perf sprockets and requires the use of film that is perforated on both edges. This will greatly reduce the range of film types that will fit your camera, and many suppliers no longer stock double-perf. A qualified tech can replace the sprockets with "sound" ones or else file them down so they remain only on the same side as the claw. ~ "Some Pitfalls of Buying Movie Cameras On-Line"
Premium Member John Pytlak RIP Posted May 25, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted May 25, 2004 Thank you for the clarification on Bolex cameras still using double-perf.
