Guest Calypso1
I am trying to determine a way to do a shot similiar to the snorri-cam/doggie cam shot in Pi or Requiem for a Dream where the camera is attached to the actor. However, I need to get this type of shot for a 10 year old child. The rig they used on Pi and Requiem is too heavy and cumbersome for a child. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to solve this problem and get this type of shot on child? Thank you very much.
Toaiva Te'evale
Well it's probably too late but my tutor has made a simple home-made snorri-cam that works very well. It is made out of a light weight tripod (one with rubber feet that screws on), a gimbal (a belt that holds fishing rods and some webbing and some firm foam plastic. One tripod leg goes in the gimbal and the other two slides in to small brackets riveted into the two plastic bits that is secured with the webbing (strapped around the ribs). It works a dream and is very light, thats if you use a lightweight miniDV camera. It's probably sturdy enough for a Sony PD150.
