James Brison
What is the video quality from a Canon XL1 using Adobe Premiere Pro? Has any one used Canon XL1 w/ Adobe Premiere Pro to produce feature film? Curious to the quality of final product. Also, what frame rate was used? And has any one blown it up to 35mm? Thanks, James
Chris Thompson
Yes I shot a feature film with the Canon XL1S and edited it on Adobe Premiere Pro. The trailers for it are at http://www.myspace.com/inthecanpictures1 I haven't blown it up to 35mm but it looks good as is. The quality is better than the streaming video you see there that is compressed way down.-CHRIS

Thanks, James I have used Adobe Premiere Pro for many documentaries, it´s good quality but definetly you´ll have to try Avid and convert it to 24 fps if you want to blow it up to 35 mm. Besides Avid is much more solid than Premier.
Guest AshG
You are FAR better off shooting with an XL2 because it not only does 24P but also has true 16:9. The 16:9 mode on the XL1 is very soft and not optimum for a film bump, especially after it is deinterlaced to 24P. ash =o)
