What the heck? Crazy F950?

Has anyone seen this? I guess it's so you can put the lens in unaccessible places...how does it work and what practical use might it have?

It is a T block adaptor on a SOny camera.

Been around for about 12 years, initially and since 2002 in HD.

Commonly used inside gimbals (stabilised cameras used by military and news)

 

Telecast have digitised RGB and put its down fiber so it can go long distances.

they were used on miami vice to get more cameras into mix. (and to puth the cams as close to the wall as possible, sometimes leaving little or no room for operators.)

 

Sorta reminds me of the old 3/4" days. Man am I glad I started working news much, much later than that.
