It's unconventional I think. I made it last night to finally have one. I like it, but I know I can do a whole lot better.

Jamie,

First thing, try not to use sites like google video or youtube to show your reel, the amount of compression they do to your reel really hurts the presentation. I would also not repeat the same shots or type of shots through out the reel, make your reel shorter if thats all you have. Shoot a lot more projects so you can add variation to your reel and shoot a lot of different projects. Remember you are trying to show a potential employer how much experience you have in a variety of different environments.

 

Work on your lighting, it seemed to me that most of your footage was over lit and seemed to flat or unnatural. Pick up a few books on lighting, focal press makes a couple which I've found really helpful.

 

And I would remove the photography still from the end. If you are marketing yourself as a DP why would you need to show static images?
