Andre LeBlanc Posted November 1, 2006 Share Posted November 1, 2006 Hello, I'm in the process of creating DVDs (standard-- not blueray) for a short film that originated on HDCAM. Basically, I've captured the full HDCAM res tape onto my hard drive, and I'm using Premiere Pro 2.0 to convert that to an NTSC res DVD. Has anyone followed this workflow before? If so, are there any tips for retaining maximum quality when creating the DVD? I realise I'm going from a resolution of 1920x1080 to 720x480, but I'm guessing there's some dos and don'ts when doing a conversion like this. Any help is greatly appreciated! seth christian Posted November 7, 2006 Share Posted November 7, 2006 (edited) really the only concerns are: make sure your aspect ratios dont change, make sure everything stays 16:9 ratio thats relative to your resizing, then just resize your layer down to its desired 720 x 405 or whatever you're using. also,....I would never try to use renders that have been mixed codecs or formats, such as trying to pull in a video that you rendered once as a quicktime (sorenson) and then allowing Encore to try and translate it to an MPEG4 or something like that. if you're using Encore, just stay with AVI or MPEG files from the beginning!
