Commercial Spec - Please give me some feedback

I just finished shooting this Heinz Commercial Spec for their 'Top-This-TV' contest. It's posted online on youtube at

Chris, I think the concept is awesome, and it flows well. So great job!

 

As far as style and look... it leaves a bit to be desired.

 

 

I loved the marching noise the the gaggle of people moving, I think that is an awesome decision, very funny!! But the reaction shots, loud sound effects and children cheering when the shot is all adults smiling I didn't like. The lighting is super harsh, and flat. It feels very cramped. I would have liked to seen softer images, and more depth to the set, and clever framing. But I assume that wasn't in your budget so I can't hold it against you.

 

The eye lines are all over the place, it's kind of hard to tell where people are. The voice over sounds a bit hot too.

 

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great piece, and it flows nicely, I understood exactly what was going on, and I even chuckled at the gaggle of people. ( I love the word gaggle, we had a gaggle of accountants like that an my old work, it took 5 ladies to open a card board box,.. it was amazing!),.. anyway! I can't wait to see more!
