arin
Hello I came to know that "Iraq In Fragments" was shot on DVX100a and blown to 35mm film for theatrical release. Do you guys know whether it was shot on plain DVX100a or any kind of compression software like andromeda was used. The footage looks excellent but i doubt if some kind of 35mm adapters or conversion technologies were used( other than just color correction) One more question I have guys. The HVX200 is HD and DVX100b is SD. when footage from these two is blown on 35mm film, would it be there a large difference between these two. Did anyone had a chance to look at this? I am planning for a feature film for theatrical release(regional film),but my budget is low. Just getting confused with which camera should i go. If I get a DVX100B and shoot, Will it be acceptable for theatrical release?
Patrick McGowan
It was shot mostly on the DVX-100 although some of the later material was shot on the 100a. He emphasizes the importance of shooting 24p advanced for a proper transfer to film. It was uprezzed to high definition and color corrected on a Da Vinci system. The tape-to-film blowup was done at Alpha Cine. Here is an in depth podcast of the workflow. http://www.zoom-in.com/podcasts/2006/05/ir...ts_format_selec This has some info as well. http://www.dv.com/features/features_item.p...cleId=193501471
