hello

thet there is an issu with the Sekonic spot meters ..

 

that thay are not calibrated to 18% reflectance..

 

this is what that was writen"note: Sekonic spot meters are not calibrated to 18% reflectance, however, calibration is user-adjustable. We have set these meters to 18% so that they will match Minolta and other spot meters."

 

 

do any of you know is this true

 

and if so how can i calibrate it to 18% gray

I have heard that they are calibrated closer to 12%. I have no idea why this would be the case. I would just send it in to Quality Light Metric or some comparable store to get it set to 18%.

 

I would also give Sekonic a call. See what they have to say.

I found this little article about one man's look into the subject. It by no means makes any rumor fact. It only strengthens the idea that we need to look into this matter with the manufacturer and have our meters checked and calibrated properly.
