Kiran
Hey guys i'm new on the block. we want to shoot a short film which will be shown on bigscreen, television and will later be adapted for mobile phones. can anyone share a little info on how to go about it. coz we're just wondering how to compose our shots and conversion methods from medium to medium. could anyone suggest a few links which could possibly contain related info. Premium Member Jayson Crothers Posted June 26, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted June 26, 2008 I shot a series for a television network that was intended first for download to phones and then it would eventually make its way to the internet a few months later. After shooting tests for the network, the phone company, the agency, etc. it was clear that what worked for one medium didn't work for the other (well, nobody could agree what they all wanted); we ended up doing different versions of each episode for different mediums - for the phones a wide shot was actually a medium shot and a medium shot was actually a close up, whereas for the eventual internet release, a wide was a wide and a close up was a close up. It was a bit tedious because we were essentially shooting everything twice. You have to consider the impact of a shot shown 5 inches wide on a computer monitor versus 1 1/2 inches on a cell phone versus 36 inches on a TV.
