Shaun Kendall
We have a client that has asked us to create a computer-controlled remote camera system for them. They have a warehouse where they would like to mount a camera on the ceiling, be able to control zoom, iris, focus, etc. from a computer and take very good quality photos. So, I need some suggestions on a camera, or camera system, with software to control everything from a computer. Thanks.
Premium Member Paul Bruening Posted July 24, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted July 24, 2008 Security systems are the category you're looking for. There are integrated systems already made.
K Borowski
Even if you were to want to do this yourself, this is a cinematography forum, not a camera technology forum. The closest we cinematographers get to computer-controlled cameras is when someone is shooting a motion control pass for models or to get a background plate, so you probably aren't going to find very many knowledgeable people here for this sort of thing. Premium Member John Sprung Posted July 25, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted July 25, 2008 Paul has the right idea. Though you could do the same thing with a broadcast quality HD camera and a hothead, the resulting system would probably be the most valuable item in the warehouse. It would be the wrong price/performance point. -- J.S.
