Shooting for a historical peice in Ireland!!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Im a graduate film student and I'm shooting a film about the potato famine to be filmed in Ireland, however the film is more about a girl who has to carry her dead mother to a holyland miles across Ireland, so its quite an emotional journey.

I've never shot wide landscapes before and have begun thinking about using filters, such as polarizers and ND grads. However, as a group we don't want to make the film look to beautiful as the protagonist is often battling her way across the land and is set in a time of depression etc. But we still want certain scenes to show Ireland's diverse and stunning landscape.

We're shooting on the ARRI 16mm SR2 kits and I could do with some advice about how to achieve the best look.

really appreciate any help,

thanks.
