Dialling In Colour

Hello Good People,

 

Is it possible to alter the colour of a light source within the shot similar to how one might increase its intensity, say the equivalent of a dimmer? I have a bright spotlight on a character and over the two to three minute diatribe I want the light to go from white and then very, very, very slowly become warmer, perhaps reaching magenta. The brightness must remain constant and only the colour change. Does anybody know of a lighting system that could work for this?
