That it a very good idea indeed. However, one is bound to having to use the same type of lens throughout a shoot if video assist is needed and the camera does not have "real" video assist. Which is not the case all the time. But, hey, bang for the buck that is really sweet! What camera do you use that on?

Ok , the link to see the complete setup:

Now there's one thing to fix , that is to correct the left to right image inversion cause by reflex prism,

that will be done in the CRT video monitor:

1- open the back cover of the monitor

2- look for 2 cables (RED & BLUE) that goes to the deflection yoke in the picture tube and switch positions.

this reverse the horizontal scan of the picture tube and fix the image.

good luck!

I see, so you lose your viewfinder when the video assist is on. How fast can you swap your video assist for your eyepiece?

Hi Saul, the video camera is just inserted on the tube (no screws) I only rotate it to fix the image.

The viewfinder can be use without the 4 screw it use, so I can use both.

This Angenieux lens was design for TV news on the shoulder camera and is not posible to adjust to other positions.

This setup is basicaly for crane and dolly situations.
